You Are Needed As A Volunteer!

teachAs you may have noticed, Children’s Time comes earlier in the worship service now and that is for a reason. We wanted to make sure our children received the benefits of Sunday School even if they could only come to worship. But, to make this extra time the best learning time it can be we need you to help serve as a teacher or teacher’s aide.

This help can be for a single Sunday or for consecutive weeks if you are able to dedicate that time to the Lord. The more people we have volunteer the lighter the responsibility for everyone. If you can help or would like to find out more, contact Mary Holmes at 795-2864 or at mholmes804@aol.com.

With summer fast approaching, it will be good to know your help made a big difference in the life of our children!

First Month, First Love

January(1)January 2013 – How will you move in simplicity and repentance to have a more intimate relationship with God in this new year?  How will you incorporate faith and prayer into the daily activities that mark your routine?  How will your heart be “strangely warmed” by the assurance of forgiveness and salvation?

Let this be the year where your spirit grows in the grace and knowledge of Jesus!  Let this be the year when your soul is renewed after the image of Jesus!  Let this be the year when your mortal body is quickened  and made more alive by the discipline of the Holy Spirit!

Let this first month mark your way as someone who is in love with Jesus and in love with your neighbor.  Invite your friends to church this month.  The Oxendines’ Gospel Singing Group will be our special guests on Sunday, January 27th.  A love offering will be received for their ministry that day and we ask everyone to come and bring food for our potluck lunch together following the service.

Lifting Up the Lord, Finishing Up Our Balcony

Friends, this Sunday, December 2nd we will have the dedication of our new balcony space, consecrated to the glory of God and the service of the world.  We are so thankful for this beautiful addition to our worship space.  Thank everyone who has already helped make this renovation project a new beginning for our church.  Thanks to Rob Sadler and Dale Smith for their fine work and to the others who have labored alongside them.

We have seen God provide for us in marvelous ways throughout the entire process!  Join me Sunday in giving thanks to the Lord as we dedicate our renewed balcony space. Also, if you want to give a thank offering to the Lord for this expansion of our worship space, please do so.
