Yesterday, we had a wonderful group head down to Greater Mount Moriah Baptist Church to conduct our last Homeless Feeding for 2015. This is one of the ways we regularly serve our community here at Laurel Hill UMC!
The next time we will serve this way will be Tuesday, March 29th, 2016.
What about these last few days of 2015? What will you do that will prepare you for the year ahead?
- Forgive anyone that has offended you, hurt you or those you love, and carry no extra weight or burdens into 2016. Some may say, that is too difficult but I am asking you to forgive and live these last two days of the year free from carrying your wounds any further into the future. I pray that on the third day, January 1st – New Year’s Day you will be raised to newness of life – the old will have passed away and you will behold all things being made new.
- Live these last two days the way you want your first days to be in 2016. Don’t overindulge or complicate any situation but clean things up and put things in their proper place.
- Seek the Lord. Call upon Him while He is near. The time to get direction is before you head out. Ask for the Holy Spirit to be your GPS – the governing and prevailing source of all you do.
Be blessed and Happy New Year!
