Biggest Redskin’s Fans

Thomas Gardner from Good Neighbor Village and a member of Laurel Hill was entered in the mayor’s ‘Biggest Redskin’s Fan in Richmond Contest’. He won! and asked Mesieta Love (who is crazy about the Redskins as well) to join him! They traveled to DC on VIP bus with Mayor’s Richmond Redskins Committee and other 7 winners to attend Fan Appreciation Day. There, they  got to meet the players and coaches before the practice game!

They were told to get to the bus by 7:30 a.m. Mesieta was there at 7:00am and Thomas got there a few minutes later. No one else showed til 7:20 ish. THESE TWO ARE DEFINITELY THE BIGGEST FAN’S EVER!

Here’s the picture of the two of them waiting for the bus and the picture that was submitted to the contest. We are so glad Thomas won. Also glad Meseita could go!

Stop! Remember! Rejoice!

As we began the year, the Administrative Council set goals as part of the Vital Congregations Emphasis.  We set goals for our average worship attendance, our involvement in mission, small groups, and professions of faith.  Our goal for professions of faith was two people.

This last Saturday, July 28th four people: Summer Anderson, Nick Cox, Eliana Horne, and Steele Martin came in response to God’s call upon their lives and were baptized into Jesus Christ.  Please pray for them and be a good example for them.

And continue to rejoice with me – there’s still more time left in the year!
