Pilgrim, Let’s Make Progress Together!

fall foliage Pilgrim, let’s make progress together. Change is in the air and it is time to ready ourselves to follow the Lord! The path before us is full of obstacles and opportunities. Let’s ready ourselves to take full advantage of our opportunities. We can start with our Fall Mission Dinner and Auction on November 2nd, starting at 6:00 PM.

Also, check the CALENDAR and the NEWSLETTER to stay up to date as we travel through the month of November. Make sure you are a faithful LAY MINISTER, serving the Lord.

Remember our Charge Conference with our District Superintendent, Steve Jones after lunch, November 10th as well as our Community Thanksgiving Service at Varina Episcopal Church on November 27th at 7:00 PM. Remember to be present in our times of worship together; your presence makes a big difference!

If You Want to Honor the Lord, Then Here’s Your Chance.

honor During the month of October we want to honor the Lord with “our prayers, our presence, our gifts, and our service.” Read about how you can do that in this month’s newsletter and look for opportunities to serve and be involved on the calendar. Also find out specifically if you are scheduled to serve as one of our Lay Ministers this month.

Happy September

fallfoliageThere is something joyful about the month of September. Not only is there a calendar full of activities but people are getting back to school and renewing their commitment to church and community. Football is back in season at every level. The air is moving away from the humidity of the summer and into the clean, refreshing sense of fall.(Yes, and my birthday is in September!)

Check out this month’s newsletter so we can prepare ourselves to step up in our covenant of prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. Read this link and see how I give thanks for the way everyone stepped up and made our Hay Day VBS wonderful and then see how you might step up your commitment to the Lord and to the church. Thank you to our Lay Ministers for serving this month, too.

Thanks for HayDay VBS!

weekend-vbs-hayday-logo-color “I want to thank each and everyone for volunteering your time and helping to make Vacation Bible School this year a success. Everyone took great pride and performed all of their assigned tasks. I am really appreciative of everyone’s effort.

Since this is the first time that we have tried a weekend VBS, I wanted to get your feedback on how the day went. Please reply to me and let me know what you liked best, what you didn’t like, any suggestions or something that we can do differently. Any feedback on how the crews worked with the mixed age groups, etc will all be appreciated.

I am open to any ideas for next year. Once again thank you all so much for all the hard work.” Sylvia Aryeh, HayDay VBS Director
