Lenten Service, March 26th

Spaghetti Supper for Missions – March 22nd
You are invited to join us this Saturday evening March 22nd, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., as Laurel Hill UMC hosts a Spaghetti Supper for the Honduras 2015 Mission Trip. Tickets are $8.00 for adults and $5 for children 3 – 12. All proceeds will go toward our next Mission Trip to Honduras in February 2015.
Church members are also encouraged to bring a dessert with you both for our shared eating pleasure and as a means of supporting the mission trip in case we have desserts folks could take home with them after supper.
If you are interested in joining the team, please contact Cindy Funk, MG Funk or Lois Miller. The cost for each Team Member will be approximately $1800, and it will be the responsibility of team members to pay their way. Of course we will continue to have fund raisers to complete raising the $10,000 needed for medical supplies, and all funds raised over that amount will be used to assist team members with their individual payment. If you are interested, you will need to let us know by May 1st, along with a $100 deposit.
See you Saturday at supper regardless of whether you want to join the Mission Team or support its work. Come and enjoy a wonderful Spaghetti Supper!
Spring into April
Let April be the month where you experience the power of God in a new and mighty way. Let it be the time you set aside time to pray and prepare for our Community-wide Revival May 4th – 7th at Antioch Baptist Church. Join the choir and be on the lookout for the rehearsal times.
April is the month where we celebrate the week of Jesus’ passion and Easter. Find out about that and more in April’s Calendar. You’ll also see more about opportunities to worship and serve in this month’s Newsletter.
Preparing for Our Children’s Easter Celebration
You can help get ready for our Children’s Easter Celebration and you’re invited to come join us for an afternoon full of egg hunting, egg dying, face painting, craft making, and tasty treats. It all happens Saturday April 12th. The starting time: 11 am. The Place: Laurel Hill United Methodist Church, 1919 New Market Rd. in Varina.
Donations are needed:
Candy and or small toys to fill the eggs
Egg dying kits
A carton of real eggs
*Donations can be dropped off at Laurel Hill, Mon-Fri 7 am-6 pm, or on Sunday before or after church service.
