Mission Meeting February 2nd

Dear members who have been supportive of Laurel Hill United Methodist Church’s 2013 Mission and Ministries fund raising events, Bill Holmes asked me to help spread the word of the upcoming Missions and Ministry committee meeting. The committee will meet this Sunday, Feb. 2nd, immediately after 11 AM church service. Those attending are asked to bring a brown bag lunch and drink. This is the annual disbursement meeting of the funds raised during 2013.

Those supportive of LHUMC’s missions and ministries outreach are encouraged to attend. I personally consider this the best meeting of the year!

Making Appointments

Tomorrow, we have a planning meeting at Laurel Hill United Methodist Church as we prayerfully ask God to help us make appointments and set our ministry calendar up to match the movement of His grace in our midst. I know there are many things that will have to be coordinated together. The more people involved the more connections we have and the greater humility that has to be offered. But, it is worth it. As Colonel John “Hannibal” Smith of the A Team says, “I love it when a plan comes together.”

I have already seen the benefit of making appointments as 2014 begins. I’ve made appointments to be in Gold’s Gym five mornings out of seven and I’ve already dropped four pounds over the last three weeks. I’ve made appointments to be in the studio and the fruit of that will be heard by thousands come spring when we launch our music and teaching subscription site, http://www.mymusicsnack.com – “The message of life in the music you love – in snack-size bites.” I’ve made appointments to write and our new books will be released over the next few months starting with The Pathway of Grace: Learning to Walk with God.

Tomorrow’s meeting will also be filled by making appointments to rejoice in worship, to work together in ministry, and to be in mission for the sake of the gospel. It starts at 9:00 AM. If you can’t be there pray for us and while you’re praying ask God what appointments you need to make!

Snowy, Windy, and…

snowThough the start time for us to have snow has been moved back to close to 5 PM, the conditions expected at the time of our Administrative Council would be snowy, windy, and a wind chill approaching single digits. Because of this, our meeting will be postponed to Saturday, January 25th at 9:00 AM. Be in prayer for those who will need to travel this evening and pray for the work we will do together this Saturday.

God bless you and your family. Norman

PS At this posting my sister in Oilville reports snow coming down sideways at her house, so we will see each other later in the week. 🙂
